Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, respectful and person-centred nursing care
- Assess residents' physical and clinical needs through appropriate nursing assessments
- Monitor changes in residents' health and respond promptly to clinical concerns
- Develop, implement and regularly review individualised care plans
- Maintain clear, accurate and confidential clinical records
- Support residents' dignity, independence and quality of life
- Establish professional and empathetic relationships with residents and families
- Work collaboratively with care assistants and wider healthcare teams
- Guide and mentor care assistants in appropriate care practices
- Promote consistent clinical standards and evidence-based approaches
- Identify opportunities to improve resident care and service quality
- Communicate clinical information effectively with colleagues and families
- Use sound judgement when addressing resident needs and clinical issues
- Contribute to a respectful, inclusive and supportive care environment
- Follow professional nursing standards, workplace procedures and quality requirements
Candidate Requirements & Eligibility
- Registered Nurse qualification suitable for assessment by the Nursing Council of New Zealand
- Minimum 2 years of post-graduate nursing experience
- Aged care or medical nursing background preferred
- NZ Nursing Council CAP approval or willingness to complete the required pathway
- Willingness to progress through New Zealand Registered Nurse registration requirements
- IELTS or OET result meeting the Nursing Council's English language requirements
- Education and training that meet New Zealand nursing scope-of-practice standards
- Ability to provide verifiable qualifications and employment history
- Strong clinical assessment and observation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Compassionate approach to caring for older people
- Ability to work independently and contribute positively to a team
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Professional, accountable and confident approach
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of nursing care
- Positive, adaptable and collaborative attitude
- InterRAI competency is advantageous
- Overseas candidates may be considered for Accredited Work Visa sponsorship
