Job Description & Workplace Context
Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the smooth and efficient operation of the motel
- Coordinate front office, housekeeping, maintenance and guest service activities
- Lead, train, roster and support employees across daily operations
- Monitor staff performance and encourage a professional service culture
- Maintain consistently high standards of guest service and property presentation
- Handle guest feedback, complaints and operational issues professionally
- Monitor occupancy, bookings, revenue and business performance
- Assist with budgeting, expenditure monitoring and cost control
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service quality and profitability
- Coordinate repairs, maintenance and facility improvements
- Manage supplier and contractor relationships
- Support marketing and promotional initiatives to increase bookings
- Maintain accurate operational, financial and guest records
- Ensure workplace, health, safety, hygiene and regulatory requirements are followed
- Develop positive relationships with local businesses and tourism stakeholders
- Identify operational issues early and implement practical solutions
Candidate Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven experience in motel, hotel or accommodation management
- Demonstrated ability to manage accommodation operations independently
- Strong and verifiable hospitality employment history
- Proven experience leading, training and supervising staff
- Strong understanding of guest service and hospitality standards
- Experience with budgeting, revenue monitoring and cost management
- Excellent customer service and complaint-handling skills
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving ability
- Experience using hotel management and point-of-sale systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple operational priorities
- Relevant hospitality qualifications or certifications are advantageous
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
- Mandarin language skills will be highly regarded
- Ability to provide genuine employment references and supporting documentation
- Must meet relevant Australian employment and sponsorship requirements
