Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, service and repair fleet vehicles and Ground Support Equipment
- Diagnose mechanical faults and determine effective repair methods
- Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance
- Troubleshoot diesel engines, hydraulic systems and mechanical components
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and complete repairs efficiently
- Inspect equipment for developing faults and potential maintenance issues
- Work across a range of specialised vehicles and mechanical equipment
- Maintain accurate records of servicing, repairs and completed work
- Follow established maintenance procedures and workplace safety requirements
- Apply practical trade knowledge to resolve mechanical problems
- Work independently while contributing to a collaborative maintenance team
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, colleagues and clients
- Maintain tools, workshop equipment and work areas to a professional standard
- Ensure all completed repairs meet required quality and safety expectations
- Support operational requirements during breakdown and maintenance activities
Candidate Requirements & Eligibility
- Qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic or Heavy Diesel Mechanic
- Minimum 5 years of relevant mechanical experience preferred
- Demonstrated and verifiable hands-on mechanical experience
- Experience with light vehicles, heavy vehicles or heavy equipment
- Current HR Driver’s Licence
- Strong mechanical diagnostic and fault-finding ability
- Ability to demonstrate previous employment and trade experience
- Reliable work history and professional attitude
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Commitment to safe and quality-focused work practices
- Ability to obtain a Police Clearance
- Ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
- Ability to pass required drug and alcohol screening
- Diesel mechanical experience advantageous
- Hydraulic experience advantageous
- Breakdown maintenance experience advantageous
- Welding experience advantageous
- Ground Support Equipment experience advantageous
- Aviation or airside maintenance exposure advantageous
- Ability to work safely around specialised and safety-critical equipment
