Key Responsibilities
- Inspect vehicles and accurately identify mechanical faults
- Carry out diagnostic procedures to determine the cause of vehicle issues
- Perform servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs
- Repair and replace engines, transmissions, suspension and related components
- Use automotive diagnostic equipment and workshop tools effectively
- Assess vehicle condition and provide practical repair recommendations
- Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high workmanship standards
- Conduct post-repair checks to confirm vehicles are operating correctly
- Maintain safe working practices when handling tools and equipment
- Keep the workshop clean, organised and compliant with safety requirements
- Assist apprentices and less-experienced technicians with practical knowledge
- Work closely with colleagues to maintain an efficient and supportive workshop
Candidate Requirements & Eligibility
- Motor Mechanic trade qualification or recognised equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of relevant automotive mechanical experience preferred
- Strong hands-on experience in vehicle servicing, diagnosis and repair
- Ability to provide verifiable evidence of qualifications and employment history
- Previous dealership experience will be viewed favourably
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Current driver's licence with ability to drive manual and automatic vehicles
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for completed work
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Professional and safety-conscious approach to workshop duties
- Willingness to relocate to the Northern Territory
