HVAC Tradesperson / Air Conditioning Technician
Job Description & Workplace Context
Key Responsibilities
- Service, inspect and repair light vehicles, heavy vehicles and Ground Support Equipment
- Diagnose mechanical faults and identify root causes of equipment issues
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance
- Respond to mechanical breakdowns and carry out effective repairs
- Work with diesel-powered equipment, hydraulic systems and associated mechanical components
- Complete maintenance and repair work to required safety and quality standards
- Support the reliable operation of specialised fleet and aviation-related equipment
- Conduct mechanical inspections and report identified faults
- Maintain accurate records of servicing, repairs and completed jobs
- Use workplace systems to document daily maintenance activities
- Work collaboratively with other technicians and operational staff
- Communicate professionally with clients and workplace representatives
- Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a safe and orderly condition
- Follow all procedures applicable to working within controlled operational environments
Candidate Requirements & Eligibility
- Relevant qualification as a Light Vehicle Mechanic or Heavy Diesel Mechanic
- Minimum 5 years of relevant hands-on mechanical experience preferred
- Demonstrated experience repairing and maintaining vehicles or heavy equipment
- Strong fault-finding, diagnostics and mechanical problem-solving skills
- Ability to demonstrate genuine and verifiable employment experience
- Ability to provide relevant trade qualifications and supporting employment evidence
- Strong commitment to safety, quality and professional workmanship
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision
- Ability to communicate and work effectively within a team
- Current HR Driver Licence
- Diesel mechanical experience is advantageous
- Hydraulic system experience is advantageous
- Breakdown maintenance experience is advantageous
- Welding experience is advantageous
- Previous GSE or aviation-sector experience is advantageous
- Ability to obtain Police Clearance
- Ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
- Ability to successfully complete required drug and alcohol screening
- Willingness to undergo identity, qualification and employment verification
- Sponsorship available for the right candidate
