Field Service Technician
Job Description & Workplace Context
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and diagnose faults across Access/EWP machinery
- Repair and maintain scissor lifts, boom lifts, cherry pickers and related equipment
- Complete preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
- Carry out field-based repairs at customer locations
- Perform workshop servicing and mechanical repairs
- Identify technical issues and determine effective repair solutions
- Support customers and colleagues with technical advice
- Maintain service records and document completed work
- Ensure machinery is safe, functional and maintained to required standards
- Work across a diverse range of heavy and small equipment
- Follow established health, safety and operational procedures
- Develop product knowledge through exposure to different equipment types
Candidate Requirements & Eligibility
- Relevant trade qualification in Heavy Diesel, Mechanical Engineering, Machinery or a related trade
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on machinery diagnosis, repair and maintenance experience
- At least 2 years' direct experience servicing and repairing Access/EWP equipment
- Proven experience working with petrol and diesel-powered machinery
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic capability
- Ability to verify qualifications and previous employment experience
- Full and valid driver's licence
- Basic computer literacy
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently in field-based environments
- Strong safety awareness and professional work ethic
- Eligible to work in New Zealand or qualify for an appropriate work visa
- Sponsorship available for qualified overseas candidates with verifiable trade credentials and experience
