Job Description & Workplace Context
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation of an assigned kitchen section
- Prepare, cook and present dishes to consistent quality standards
- Maintain efficient preparation and service during high-volume periods
- Work closely with senior chefs to achieve food quality and presentation expectations
- Contribute practical ideas to menu planning, specials and seasonal dishes
- Make effective use of fresh, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients
- Support, guide and train junior kitchen team members
- Maintain a clean, organised and professional workstation throughout service
- Follow established food safety, hygiene and food handling procedures
- Monitor ingredient usage and communicate stock requirements to senior kitchen staff
- Assist with ordering and maintaining appropriate stock levels
- Support kitchen preparation for functions, events and changing service requirements
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to improvements in kitchen processes
Candidate Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised culinary qualification or relevant professional culinary training
- Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or in a comparable professional kitchen role
- Background working in a busy, high-volume hospitality environment
- Demonstrated ability to produce consistent, high-quality food
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and kitchen standards
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
- Good organisation, time management and attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Confidence in supporting and developing less-experienced kitchen staff
- Professional attitude with a genuine commitment to culinary excellence
