Key Responsibilities
- Identify new markets, prospects and commercial opportunities
- Develop and maintain a qualified business development pipeline
- Build trusted relationships with exhibitors, sponsors, advertisers and strategic partners
- Engage senior stakeholders and decision-makers across relevant industries
- Develop new domestic and international business opportunities
- Increase participation from exhibitors across HVAC&R, building services and related sectors
- Create tailored sponsorship and partnership solutions based on client objectives
- Generate advertising opportunities across digital platforms, publications and events
- Lead proactive outreach through calls, meetings, networking and industry events
- Manage prospects from initial engagement through negotiation and conversion
- Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, segmentation and pipeline activity
- Use CRM insights to monitor opportunities and prioritise commercial activity
- Work alongside marketing and events teams to maximise campaign and partnership outcomes
- Identify emerging industry trends and potential revenue opportunities
- Attend industry functions, roadshows and stakeholder meetings as a commercial representative
- Provide market feedback and recommendations to support future commercial strategy
Candidate Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in business development, B2B sales or a comparable commercial role
- Proven record of delivering measurable sales, revenue or business growth results
- Strong evidence of new-business development and client acquisition
- Experience building and managing relationships with senior business stakeholders
- Background in exhibitions, events, sponsorship, advertising, media or consultative sales is highly regarded
- Strong commercial judgement and ability to recognise high-value opportunities
- Excellent communication, negotiation, networking and influencing skills
- Confident approaching prospective clients through outbound business development
- Ability to understand client requirements and translate them into commercially valuable solutions
- Strong CRM discipline, forecasting ability and attention to detail
- Experience with Zoho CRM or comparable CRM platforms is highly regarded
- Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of commercial objectives
- Collaborative approach suited to a small, agile and relationship-focused organisation
- Knowledge or professional networks within HVAC&R, engineering, architecture, construction, building services or the broader built environment will be highly regarded
- Ability to demonstrate genuine and verifiable professional experience relevant to the position
